Ya Kun Kaya Toast
ZERO Equity and ZERO External Investors. Every Small Coffee Shops Dream of Making it Big Came True for Ya Kun Kaya Toast.
Ya Kun Kaya Toast began as a coffee stall in 1936, started by Loi Ah Koon and his two partners at Telok Ayer Basin, Shenton Way. He formally registered Ya Kun Coffee Stall in 1944 after the 2 partners left.
Ah Koon ran the outlet for 55+ years until his son Adrin Loi took over and franchised the company, to scale over 120+ outlets across multiple countries and did so while keeping the company 100% Family owned.
The Nanyang breakfast culture is replicated in almost every corner of Southeast and East Asia. For Ya Kun Kaya Toast they've amassed a loyal brand following with its culture and presence spreading beyond Singapore.
As Ya Kun keeps growing, can they scale further without compromising the very heritage that built them?
