Fun Toast
Fun Toast grew to 50 outlets without VC or PE money while Singaporeans thought the market was over saturated.
The Singaporean Kaya toast chain, started in 1941 as Kheng Nam Hong, scaled the brand through a franchising model. Today, Fun Toast has over 50+ outlets across Singapore and offer $4.90 sets.
For Franchisors, they have adapted a smaller kiosk format which is as small as 150sqft, lowering the CAPEX and monthly rent compared to its competitors.
But as of 2026, consumers have been complaining about their inconsistencies in the coffee. Yet still rate the brand as delivering a convenient and functional 'meal' when commuting.
So maybe Fun Toast isn't Toast at all but it could get there.
